Mittagundi Open Day & Pioneer Skills (Festival Weekend) 2025

A family event hosted by Mittagundi on Jan 24th - Jan 26th 2025

Friday 24th - Bush Dance and BBQ at the Glen Valley Hall

Saturday 25th - Pioneer skills day and open day with stalls, games, live music, farm style dinner and much more!

Sunday 26th - Pack down day

Food:

You can BYO all food or purchase Friday BBQ dinner, Saturday BBQ & Pizza lunch, Café items
(note: Saturday night's dinner is included in the ticket).

Beverages:

NO BYO beverages - bar available to purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at the hall on Friday night and at Mittagundi on Saturday.
Drinking water available from Mittagundi taps onsite.
No glass please.

Camping:

If you have a specific accommodation request/tradition, please email info@mittagundi.org.au to let us know. This will be first come, first serve.
Otherwise, camping will be in the 'Will's' paddock or you can camp elsewhere e.g. Big River Campsite.

BRING CASH! LIMITED Eftpos available! (it may stop working unexpectedly) 

U18's must be accompanied by a guardian.

 Tickets at the gate will be limited, please buy online if you can! Arrival on Friday from 4pm onwards to set up camp. Troopy shuttles from 5pm onwards between Mittagundi and the Glen Valley Hall, bush dance commencing after 6pm.

The Festival of Folk, Rhythm and Life has evolved over the past 20 years into what many, who know about it, would call ‘the best little festival around’. It began back in 1996 as a dedicated fundraising effort for Mittagundi Outdoor Education Center and was powered by enthusiasm, altruism and a good sense of what a good time in the bush was all about. When we began many bands described as “the southern Maleny / Woodford Festival” which we took as a massive compliment.

Mittagundi will be joining in on all of the fun!! MittagundiCouncil needs your help

Can you volunteer 10-15 hours (depending on the number of vollies we get) to help out at FRL on 6,7,8 December.

'We are looking for willing helpers to do one or more of the below,

1) general vollie willing to do almost anything

2) baristas for the coffee stall

3) people with an RSA to work on the bar

4) people with a bus licence

5) help selling food.

If this is you, we are able to give you a ticket to FRL for the whole weekend. If you are under 18, we can use your help too, however you will need between three of you one adult willing to keep an eye on you. please send your interest to info@mittagundi.org.au

Hello Beautiful Mittagundi Community! Winter is coming!!
Our high plains Huts need stocking and there’s plenty of prep to go into the property before we can cater to the hundreds of students that come to Mittagundi over the winter months. This working bee is a chance to not only help give to Mittagundi but it’s an opportunity to spend some days in this beautiful part of the world. We would love if you could attend.
We will have options of sleeping in cabins and plenty of hot meals and drinks provided. Please let us know if you would like to book a spot in a cabin and of any dietary requirements. Email info@mittagundi.org.au …

Hello Beautiful Mittagundi Community! It’s with great excitement that we are running COURSES IN 2023 ! But before we can we NEED YOUR HELP.
Track 107, the farm and our fences need some love and tender care. This working bee is a chance to not only help give to Mittagundi but it’s an opportunity to spend some days in this beautiful part of the world. We would love if you could attend. If you’re not good on the tools that’s ok, there’s always other general farm jobs like cooking up a storm and caring for the animals.

The festival and open day is back at Mittagundi in 2022!  A family friendly event on January 14th/15th 2022. There will be demonstrations, live music, and dinner on the Saturday night included in the ticket price.

It’s Mittagundi’s main fundraising event for the year and it’s a great chance to find out more about this not-for-profit organisation that has been tucked away in the valley for over 40 years.

Come and join us! Please book online for catering purposes. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

UPDATE - this program is now FULL with a waiting list

We have a "one off super special opportunity" that has never happened before - and may never happen again.  Join us to experience Mittagundi's unique 'ski tour and farm stay' programs - for adults.   We have ONE program available from Wednesday 23rd August - Sunday 27th August that we are opening up to adults. There are only 15 spaces available and they will fill quickly.  An opportunity to  cross country ski, snow camp, cook and eat in pioneer huts and contribute to farm life at Mittagundi's 400 acre property. 

Mittagundi is way more that a simple farm stay, it is an opportunity to experience simple healthy living. Mittagundi programs are like no other in the sense that they provide a unique chance to actually live without their phones, computers or indeed any electricity or modern conveniences. This builds resilience, capabilities and confidence and allows for some much needed “time out”. At Mittagundi people engage with their peers and explore themselves in an open, honest and personable way.
